There are numerous interior enhancements, most notably the replacement of a shifter with transmission selector buttons, and a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen.
Under the hood, the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe gets a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 191 horsepower and 182 lb-ft of torque, a slight increase of 6 hp and 4 lb-ft compared to the outgoing 2.4-liter four-banger. The more notable difference is that, according to Hyundai, the new engine will provide an 8% boost in fuel economy. This powerplant is teamed to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Buyers can opt for a new available turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 277 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque, a big jump from the prior turbo-four, which produced 235 hp and 260 lb-ft. The new mill picks up more efficiency and gets an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission instead of a traditional automatic. This engine is standard in the Santa Fe's new top-line Calligraphy trim, which comes with standard all-wheel drive, quilted leather upholstery, a color head-up display, exclusive exterior accents, and more upmarket interior trim. Both these four-cylinder units get standard front-wheel drive and available all-wheel drive.
