​The Hyundai Evolve+ program is a new way to get behind the wheel of an electric vehicle. This no-commitment monthly car subscription service is great for anyone looking to drive an EV for a few months or who would like to determine if an EV is the right choice.

The Evolve+ EV subscription service currently allows drivers in New Jersey to drive a 2022 Hyundai Kona EV, with more electric and electrified vehicles to be added later.

The cost of the Evolve+ electric car subscription depends on several factors, including the type of vehicle and the location. The Evolve+ mobile app includes the latest information on the service.

When you become an Evolve+ member, the monthly car rental fee includes maintenance, insurance, and roadside assistance. The monthly payment doesn't include charging. You'll be responsible for charging the EV while you have the vehicle. The included Level 1 charging cable allows you to charge the vehicle with a standard household outlet. If you don't live in a house with private parking, no problem. Evolve+ has a partnership with Electrify America that provides access to 540 conveniently located charging stations with easy access through the Evolve+ mobile app.

There are a few eligibility requirements. Members must be at least 25 years old. They must have a credit score of 650 or higher, a clean driving record with at least three years of recent driving history, a valid U.S. driver's license, and a valid credit card.

Drivers get an allowance of 1,000 miles. After 1,000 miles in 28 days, the billed rate is $20 per 100 miles up to 1,500 miles. After that, the charge is $1 per mile.

Hyundai Evolve+ includes roadside assistance, so if the battery ever runs down, you'll get a tow to the closest charging station or Hyundai dealer for charging. If the EV breaks down, just call the roadside assistance service. The Evolve+ customer service department can arrange to get you a replacement vehicle.

The maintenance service includes checks of the vehicle's important systems and parts. You'll be confident knowing you don't have to keep track of the vehicle's maintenance schedule. Evolve+ will contact you, let you know when it's time to bring the EV for service, and schedule your service appointment.
