View our extensive inventory | Hyundai Dealership Serving PhillyShowing its commitment to performance to the nth degree, Hyundai's Veloster N joins the Veloster lineup. According to Hyundai, N stands for Namyang, the Korean city that houses the automaker's R&D center, as well as for Nürburgring, the German track where this performance vehicle was put through its paces and further developed. According to the Hyundai Dealer in Philly, this is the first of Hyundai's N variants to be made available in the U.S. market.

Above all else, Hyundai engineered the 2019 Veloster N to be fun to drive. Drivers will experience the perfect combination of pulse-pounding performance, electrifying cornering capability, track worthiness and everyday drivability. Those who test drive the Veloster N at a dealership like the Hyundai Philly dealer will be amazed at this hatch's incredible acceleration. Anyone looking for a front-wheel-drive hatchback that drives like a race car will want to place the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N at the top of their shopping list.

Car and Driver had the opportunity to test drive the Veloster N in Germany, reporting: "During two laps of the 12.9-mile Nordschleife and an hour-long tear through the surrounding countryside, we reveled in an animated engine, faithful steering, assured body control, steadfast brakes, a remarkable resistance to understeer, and emotions we've never before unlocked while piloting a Hyundai."

Under the hood, the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N boasts a 2.0-liter direct-injected turbocharged engine that makes an estimated 250 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque in the base model. The available Performance package features a revised overboost strategy that pushes the horses to 275. To provide more efficient cooling of the intake charge, the turbo system intercooler is isolated from the radiator and condenser. A two-stage induction system delivers the greatest amount of output at all rpm ranges. This high-performance powerplant is connected to a close-ratio, short-throw six-speed manual gearbox with rev-matching capability that drivers can switch on and off using a button on the steering wheel. Expect zero-to-60 mph times of under 5.5 seconds.

Drivers can select a performance mode using the steering wheel or the touchscreen. The modes are listed as Normal, Eco, Sport, or track-focused N. Drivers can even create their own modes by tuning each performance setting. For maximum cornering ability, the N has an optional electronically controlled limited slip differential that uses true torque vectoring to deliver torque where it's most needed. This increases cornering speed and reduces understeer to produce agile handling.

The 2019 Veloster N comes with 13-inch brake rotors in the front and 11.8-inch rotors in the rear. Buyers can opt for the available N braking system, which includes 13.6-inch performance rotors on the front axle and 12.4-inch rotors on the rear. This system provides confident braking that dissipates heat.

To add even more excitement to the ride, the Hyundai Veloster N has optional Pirelli P-Zero Summer tires, wrapped around 19-inch alloy wheels. These Pirelli tires are manufactured using a nano-composite compound specifically formulated to deliver optimum lateral stability, grip and stopping power.

We'd be remiss if we didn't say a few words about the 2019 Hyundai Veloster N's exterior design. The head-turning styling combines aesthetics and performance, with brake-cooling vents in the front fascia, high-flow exhausts, a carbon fiber-tipped spoiler and an integrated rear diffuser.
