Midsize sedans might not be the big battleground of the auto market they once were, but they're still an area of the market where competition is incredibly fierce, and the quality is outstanding as a result. If you go to a Gloucester City Hyundai dealer and check out the 2019 Hyundai Sonata, for example, you'll find a midsize sedan that's stylish, comfortable, spacious, very well equipped at all trim levels, and a very good value for money.

The available trim levels certainly offer buyers plenty of choice. There are six in total, which start with the entry-level SE and then go to the Eco, SEL, Sport, Limited and the Limited 2.0T. Here are some details of what to expect from the six trim levels of the 2019 Hyundai Sonata you'll come across when you visit a dealership like Gloucester Hyundai.

There are three engines in the 2019 Hyundai Sonata range. The SE comes standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that produces 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. This powerplant is standard in the SEL, Sport and Limited. Other standout features of this entry-level model include a rearview camera, 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, power features, a seven-inch color touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and Bluetooth connectivity and streaming. Blind spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert and lane change assist are among the standard safety features.

The Eco is effectively the same as the SE, apart from the powertrain. The Eco comes with a 1.6-liter turbo-four, producing 178 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a seven-speed dual clutch transmission.

SEL models have the same powertrain as the SE, but additional features include 17-inch alloys, a Sport cascading mesh grille, LED daytime running lights, a hands-free smart trunk with auto open, dual-zone auto temperature control and an eight-way power driver's seat. The SEL also comes standard with heated front seats and steering wheel, wireless charging and the Hyundai Blue Link Connected Car System.

Paddle shifters on the steering wheel add to the sporty feel of the Sonata Sport trim level. The Sport also includes a sport diffuser with dual chrome exhaust tips, dark chrome lower body side moldings and exterior door handles, LED interior lighting, and 3D Tech interior accents with a flat-bottom steering wheel and aluminum sport pedals.

This is the last model in the range to come with the 185 hp 2.4-liter engine, but the Limited does come standard with the larger ventilated front disc brakes that are optional with the SEL and Sport trims. The Limited builds further on the Sport trim with the inclusion of LED headlights and taillights, leather seats that are ventilated in the front, an Integrated Memory System for the driver's seat and side mirrors, a six-way power front passenger seat, an electronic park brake and smart cruise control with stop-start. Standard safety features include high beam assist and Dynamic Bending Light.

Limited 2.0T

The Limited 2.0T trim level adds quite a bit more than just the different powerplant the name suggests. It is, however, the only model in the range that gets a 2.0-liter turbo-four that puts out an impressive 245 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, which is then sent to the wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Limited 2.0T also comes with a unique sport-tuned suspension and steering, a tilt-and-slide panoramic sunroof, rear parking sensors, a 400-Watt premium sound system, and an upgraded 8-inch high-resolution touchscreen infotainment system with navigation.
