Subcompact crossovers have been steadily gaining ground in the marketplace, and the 2018 Hyundai Kona is poised to overtake the competition. We understand the Kona's looks may not be for everyone, but customers at the Burlington Hyundai dealer tell us they enjoy the Kona's bold, funky styling. Drive the Kona and you'll find it provides a better drive than other vehicles in its class. Of course, you'll get great value, which is the hallmark of every Hyundai offering.Â
According to the folks at Burlington Hyundai, one feature that really distinguishes the Kona from other subcompact crossovers is its turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that's standard on the two upper trims. And no comparison would be complete if we didn't mention Hyundai's industry-leading warranty. Anyone looking for a subcompact crossover should seriously consider the 2018 Hyundai Kona.
The automotive press can be critical, but all indications are the 2018 Hyundai Kona is winning over reviewers, with Kelley Blue Book writing: "If you're looking for a uniquely styled, space-efficient, fuel-efficient and high-tech small-crossover SUV, the Kona has you covered. It even offers a turbocharged engine, helping it avoid the pokey-acceleration critique leveled at so many of its competitors."

The 2018 Hyundai Kona seats five and is offered in four trim levels, listed as SE, SEL, Limited and Ultimate. Powering the SE and SEL trims is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 147 horsepower and 132 lb.-ft. of torque, matched to a six-speed automatic transmission. Under the hood of the Limited and Ultimate trims is a powerful 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 175 horses and 195 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine is connected to a seven-speed automated dual-clutch gearbox.
Front-wheel drive is standard on all Kona trims, and all-wheel drive is optional. AWD is a feature not found on many Kona competitors, including the Kia Soul, Nissan Kicks and Toyota CH-R. And the Kona comes with a center differential lock for more serious off-roading adventure.
