Facility
Burns Collision Center is located in the Burns Buick-Pontiac-GMC building, conveniently located on Rt. 70 Marlton, NJ (just ½ mile west of Rt. 73). In addition to our “all makes and models” repair capability, we service the owner base of Burns Buick (the former Eckenhoff Buick franchise), Burns Pontiac-GMC (established in 1970), Burns Honda, and Burns Hyundai.
The “working shop” consists of 30 bays, 20 metal-10 refinish (approx. 7,000 sq.ft.)
Our Customer Write up area and administrative offices were recently expanded and remodeled (2007), and features a walk-up “granite top” counter with 4 workstations, a receptionist station, administrative assistant office, and Body Shop Director’s office. The Body Shop has it’s own customer waiting area featuring a beverage station serving hot coffee and bottled water. In addition, the attached Dealership facility provides a flat screen “TV lounge”, a “quiet lounge” as well as two PC’s with high speed internet for customer use, as well as, new restroom facilities (2008).
On July 1st 2007, we opened a satellite support facility in nearby Oaklyn, NJ, which houses our “Rapid Repair Center”. Our Rapid Repair program decreases cycle time and can cut down on costly rental expenses.
For convenience, Enterprise Rental is located just 3/4 of a mile west of our collision center and is committed to delivering outstanding customer service to our customers.
Support Staffing (Production and Customer Service)
Our Body Shop Director (Jim Williams) has over 30 years experience at Burns. Jim is supported by a professional team of production and customer service staff comprised of Joe DiMonte, Body Shop Manager, three Estimators, Paint Foreman, Office Administrator, and two dedicated Parts Coordinators. In addition, we have a Spanish speaking Estimator/advisor.
Technology Support
Our LAN (local area network) hosts Pathways estimating and digital imaging as well as ADP Audutex. These programs are resident on 8 workstations (clients) to eliminate customer waiting for any estimates or print outs.
To support production efficiency and quality, metal shop is equipped with 8 Car-o-Liner frame benches all with an under and overhead CarTronic computerized measuring system, 4 mig welders, 2 Pro Spot resistance welders, 2 A/C refrigerant recovery units, 11 lifts plus all of the normal body tool necessities used in everyday body shop operations.
Scheduled for spring 2009, Burns Collision will be converting our entire paint system to an environmentally friendly “Green” system known as waterborne refinishing. The move to waterborne refinish basecoat is an effective solution for lowering VOC emissions—improving air quality and our environment. Our refinishing department has 2 Saima downdraft oven booths, 2 Saima hard wall downdraft prep decks (with heat and air make-up) as well as lift and trolley system to transfer car from prep deck to booth laterally, painter tech fresh air breathing system for 6 technicians, gun washer, solvent bake off recycler, and a Sikkens mixing station with Mix-it 2 computer system and a technician help hot line.
Production Staff
Our production staff consists of 6 heavy wreck specialists, 4 first class body technicians, 1 combination person, 4 first class paint technicians, 1 general shop helper and 1 technician helper. All of our Technicians are I-CAR trained and A.S.E. certified in their respected field and the shop is I-CAR GOLD certified. Training is continuous and, as evidence by our commitment to excellence and quality. All training is fully paid for by the shop.
Additional Items
The Burns Automotive Complex operates on-site a large Mechanical Department as well as a Parts Department supporting the Burns Collision Center. Burns is aware of the changes in the industry and spends tens of thousands of dollars each year for the training and facility/equipment upgrades that must be made in order to maintain quality and cost standards.
We are located in the premier retail location in one of the premier towns in South Jersey, proving extremely convenient to your insured’s. The entire facility is surrounded by a fence and secured by a security guard after hours (we have not reported a theft in over 5 years). We offer 24 hr. emergency towing service and are fully insured through MIC.

We understand completely the fiduciary responsibility that we have with the insurance industry. We have a similar responsibility with the vehicle manufacturers to administer their warranties.
Burns Collision Center offers a Limited Lifetime warranty for all of our repairs.
